Fort McKavett Volunteer Fire Department
The Fort McKavett Fire District has proudly served our community since 2001. Our mission is simple: to protect lives and property, offer assistance when needed, and provide the best fire protection possible.
Located 70 miles southeast of San Angelo, Texas, in a farming and ranching community, we are situated at the crossroads of Menard, Sutton, Kimble, and Schleicher counties. Our coverage area spans 300 square miles, and we also provide secondary response to four neighboring fire districts, covering approximately 3,000 square miles in total.
We operate three fire trucks and maintain a helipad for emergency patient transfers. Our facility offers RV sites and a community center available for rent.
We’re always looking for new members to join. Our department meets monthly, and we also host a community game night to bring local residents together.
We’re here to serve.
